To be considered for the Esther Hutmacher Parriott Scholarship: You must reside in Stephenson County, but live outside the city of Freeport, and you must be a high school senior or have graduated from school within the last six years.  Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the following: rank in class, economic and financial need, standardized test scores (ACT scores), and academic potential.  


Stateline Music Foundation - deadline:  April 13th
Music scholarship aid auditions for high school seniors graduating in 2018 who reside or attend high school in these counties: Jo Davies, Carroll, Stephenson, Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, Whiteside, Lee, etc.  Must be enrolling in a music major curriculum in a junior/community college or four year college/university. $500 & $250 scholarships given. Categories include piano, organ, voice, strings, brasses, woodwinds, and percussion. See flyer for more info. 

Northern IL Antique Dealers Association
 - deadline: May 15, 2018
Two $1,000 scholarships for students who are HS seniors enrolling in 2-4 year institution of higher learning or students who are currently enrolled in college. Scholarships are for students who are studying History, Design, Arts, Historic Preservation, or a related field. 

APWA NW Branch Scholarship
 -deadline:May 1, 2018
$2,000 scholarship for student pursuing Civil or Environmental engineering or Public Works related field. Students must reside or be employed in Boone, Winnebago, Stephenson, Lee, Jo Davies, Whiteside Carroll, or Ogle counties in NW Illinois


3 - $1,000 scholarships to students who plan to advance their secondary education in the field of Agriculture. Interested students should submit an essay expressing why they are interested in the field of Agriculture, their future schooling plans, and their current involvement in farm related activities, etc.  See attached flyer  for more details

 

WQAD S.O.A.R. Scholarship - deadline: April 16, 2018
5-$1,000 scholarships for seniors who best exemplify S.O.A.R. characteristics: S-Strength of character, O-Creating Opportunities to give back to the community, A-Achievement in academics and volunteerism, R-Resolve shown when faced with an adversarial situation. Application found at WQAD website along with a complete list of rules. 

Freedom Township Scholarship  - deadline: March 23rd

Write an essay on the Importance of Township Government and live in Freedom Township.  See flyer for mailing instructions.

IL Hospital Research & Education Fund - deadline: April 15, 2018

$1,000 scholarships to individuals pursuing degrees in the medical field. Must have 3.5 GPA or higher. Application is attached.


Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund -

Applicants must be one of the following: dependant son/daughter of US Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Guardsman, or Marine who has become permenantely disabled as a result of an opperational mission or taining accident; dependant son/daughter of a Soldier (etc.) who has een killed in action; or the dependant son/daughther of a Soldier (etc.) who has been classified as a POW or MIA.  Applicants must also be a senior in high school or currently enrolled as a full time undergraduate student.

IL Quad City Chapter of Credit Union - deadline: February 15, 2014

 Students are asked to write an original and creative essay of 1,000 words or less that demonstrates an understanding of  political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage The essay may concern an issue at the local, state, national, or international level. $500-$10,000 awarded annually.

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship   - deadline: February 1, 2015
Are you active in your community? Have you led a project that benefits others? Have you overcome personal challenges? If so, apply today! Up to 375 winners nationwide. Scholarships up to $2,000.

$1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior, male or female, who resides in IL and will be enrolling in the fall in a college, community college, or university. Student must be a descendant of a male who served honorable in the Army, Navy, Judicial, Executive, or Civil Service of the Confederate States of America. Must submit 500 word essay. See attached documents  for further details.

Adkins Energy LLC - deadline: April 1, 2015
$1,500 scholarship for anyone actively pursuing higher education.  Scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievement, financial impact, and an essay concerning Ethanol.  See application for more specific essay requirements.

 IL Pork Producers Scholarship - deadline April 1st, 2015
These scholarships will be awarded to a total of nine students through the IPPA Scholarship program, $1,000 or more for each scholarship.  Funding for these scholarships is made possible through the Keppy Foundation. Applicants must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or be enrolling to begin in the Fall of 2013 to be eligible. IPPA Scholarships are open to students pursuing any undergraduate degree at any two-year or four-year college.  Previous winners may apply for any scholarship level. Applicants must submit a completed application form, transcripts; and a list of activities. In addition applicants must submit a typed essay identifying how they plan to contribute to the pork industry.
Eligibility: high school senior who demonstrates standards of honesty, integrity, hard work, and commitment to quality community journalism.  Students may be editors, writers, photographers, or graphic designers at high school newspapers (yearbook?) or professional news publications with plans to major in journalism or communications.  See application for further details.

Illinois Hospital Research and Educational Foundation scholarship - April 15, 2015
Students currently enrolled or accepted into a certification or degree conferring hospital related health care sequence are eligible (such as medical school, dental school, nursing programs, pharmacy schools, radiology technology programs, occupational/physical/speech therapy, etc.).  Students ingeneral course programs (i.e. pre-med or gen ed courses) are NOT eligible.  Must be IL resident and have GPA of 3.5.

Farnham Scholarship - deadline: April 15, 2015
This scholarship is for an individual who was very active in the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.  This person should be planning to study Business or Industrial Relations or a related field.  
Herb & Susan Getz Scholarship - deadline: ?
$5,000 scholarship to IL Wesleyan University for a student who graduates from Carroll County.  This is in addition to any need based financial aid.  Contact IWU's admissions office for more details (309) 556-3031.


www.jumpstart-scholarship.net  The College JumpStart Scholarship is an annual, merit-based competition --financial need is not considered -- that is open to 10th-12th graders, college students and non-traditional students.  The main requirement is that you are committed to going to school and can express your goals for getting a higher education.  The first place prize is a $1,000 scholarship to help cover educational expenses.  This award can be used at any college or university in the United States.  Deadline: October 17, 2015.


$1,500 scholarship available to an individual who is related to a rural electric cooperative employee or director in the State of Illinois; or is the son/daughter of an electric cooperative member in Illinois; or is enrolled in the Lincoln Land lineworker's school; or has served or is serving in the U.S. armed forces or National Guard. Applicant must have high school diploma or GED at the time the scholarship is awarded. See  application  for more details.
State Farm Good Neighbors Scholarship - deadline: March 2, 2016
Applicants must meet the following criteria:  be a 2016 graduating high school senior, have a GPA between 2.5-3.2 (on 4.0 scale), plan to enroll full-time for the 2015-2016 year at accredited 2-4 year college or technical school, and be a U.S. citizen. 50-$2,500 scholarships available!

Township Officials of IL - deadline: March 1, 2016

Requirements: graduating IL high school senior with GPA of 3.0, US citizen and resident of IL planning to attend a university/college in IL, should have history of extracurricular activities that demonstrates a willingness to accept leadership responsibilities.  

 Buick Achievers Scholarship - deadline: February 29, 2016
The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program wants to reward students who have succeeded both inside and outside of the classroom—and who may not be able to attend college without financial assistance. It's a reward for what you've made of yourself and the difference you are making for others. Good grades, volunteer work, leadership, and community involvement are looked at. Applicants who are planning to major in engineering, technology, design, business, or automotive industry are encouraged to apply.  Up to $25,000 per year for 100 1st time freshmen and an additional 100 students will receive one-time $2,000 scholarship awards. Mediacom World Class Scholarship : deadline: February 15, 2016
60 - $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school students attending accredited post-secondary institutions in the fall of 2016. While it is not required that a student be a Mediacom customer, applicants must live in areas serviced by Mediacom. A complete listings of all towns they service is in the application (Shannon and Lanark are included). 

Rock River Valley Tooling and Machining Association Scholarship - deadline: March 1, 2016
5-$1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors.  Criteria include:  primary residence in Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, Stephenson, or Whiteside County in IL, intended course of study in manufacturing technology or manufacturing engineering, plan to attend community college, technical school, or 4-year college.   


Cornerstone Credit Union  - deadline: February 29, 2016

Illinois PTA Scholarship - deadline: February 15, 2016
Achievement-based scholarships of $2,000 awarded to graduating seniors who are planning to study education or an education related field (i.e. school nurse, social work, librarian, etc.).  Must have 3.0 GPA

Martin Luther Scholarship - deadline: February 13, 2016
*For Christians who are Lutheran, not Martin Luther King Jr.*
$2,000 award for young men who will be attending their first year at any accredited 4-year college or university. Applicant should be confirmed member of a Lutheran congregation and starting school in the Fall 2016.  There is no obligation to join fraternity or be related to a member.  
Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarships 
 
deadline: January 20, 2016
RMHC Scholarships for Eastern Iowa and Western IL have awarded more than $90,000 to over 40 students since 2008.  Eligibility requirements include:  Senior, 2.7 GPA or higher, must reside in geographical boundaries (Carroll & Whiteside Counties are included), and must be US citizen.  Preference will be give to applicants who have either A) had a serious childhood illness or injury.  B) Had a sibling with a serious childhood illness or injury. or C) Volunteered for any Ronald McDonald House Charities Chapter. 
Mercy Rockford Health Systems - deadline: March 18, 2016
Two scholarships available!  Sister Mary Michael Berry Scholarship is for 2 $2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors attending a high school in the WI and IL Mercy service areas.  And a Minority Veteran Scholarship is for $1,000 for a person of minority or veteran status living in the WI or IL Mercy service areas. Karen Hill Memorial Scholarship  - deadline: March 31, 2016
2-$1,000 scholarships for students in history, art, design, historic preservation, or a related field. Eligibility: students from IL who are graduating high school seniors and are enrolling in 2-4 year institute of higher learning or students currently enrolled in postsecondary institution either at the graduate or undergraduate level.  

Mediacom World Class Scholarship : deadline: February 16, 201560 - $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school students attending accredited post-secondary institutions in the fall of 2015. While it is not required that a student be a Mediacom customer, applicants must live in areas serviced by Mediacom. VFW Scholarship - deadline: April 1, 2016
Student must attend (or plan to attend) Highland Community College, be a senior in the HCC district, and have a GPA of C or better (2.0).  Student must maintain a C or better GPA at the end of each semester to qualify for full scholarship payment.  See application for details.

Pointe Pest Control Scholarship - deadline: March 31, 2016

A $750 scholarship judged primarily on need basis, but does not exclude achievement standards.  Any high school senior or college freshmen who are a resident of the state of IL and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible to apply.

Prairie Chapter of American Institute of Architects - May 2016

$2,500 in scholarship prizes for this Architecture competition.  Time consuming project but program will offer interaction with local professionals in architecture and is an excellent precursor to college level design. Pointe Pest Control Scholarship - deadline: April 29, 2016
$750 scholarship for students who are either a high school senior or college freshmen, have 3,0, and demonstrate financial need.  

Tobacco Free Life  - deadline: September 30, 2016
Students can apply by submitting a 1,000-1,500 word essay on some questions regarding smoking and why it is a problem (see website for details).

Barbara Lotze Scholarship deadline: December 1, 2016
High school seniors who are planning to pursue a career in teaching physics are eligible to apply.  

Hagan Scholarship Foundation - deadline: November 15, 2016
$5,000 scholarship per semester available! Scholarship for students in the midwest from rural communities, have at least 3.5 GPA, have 23 or higher on ACT, and have financial need. Must have applied for FAFSA to be considered and have a EFC less than $7,500. Application found on website. If you qualify, don't miss out!

Jay Polhill Memorial Scholarship - Deadline April 4th, 2016

$750 Scholarship for a college-bound senior with a passion for fine arts.  Scholarship is available for a graduating high school seniors from Aquin, Dakota, Orangeville, Eastland, Lena-Winslow, Pearl City, Scales Mound, Stockton, or Warren.  Applicant must have ACT score of 20, earned at least a C average in high school, good attendance at high school,  and plan to major in certain field (see application for details).
Stokes Educational Scholarship Program - deadline: October 31, 2015
Open to High School Seniors planning to major in computer science or computer/electrical engineering.  With this you would attend college full-time, then work during the summer at NSA's main headquarters in Fort Meade, MD for a minimum of 12 weeks in areas related to course of study.  Qualifications:  US Citizen, HS Senior, minimum ACT of 25, majoring in computer science or electrical engineering, 3.0 GPA or higher (is preferred).  
Pheasants Forever (Carroll County Chapter)  - deadline: February 10th
2 - $600 scholarships to a graduating senior from a Carroll County high school. Children of long-standing members and Long Spur shooters residing outside of the county are also eligible to apply. Applicant must support the preservation of and actively participate in the hunting sports. See application for more information
Horatio Alger Scholarships  - deadline: October 25, 2016
Thousands of Dollars in scholarships awarded!  As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need. National, State, Career & Technical, and Targeted Scholarships are all available through this association.

Science Ambassador Scholarship - deadline: December 11, 2016
Eligibility:  Women who are a US citizen or permanent resident and a full-time college student in 2017-2018 seeking a degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics field. Student should be someone who is excited to talk about science and can do it clearly and accurately. Scholarship competition is a video upload, no longer than 3 minutes. Ronald McDonald House Scholarship 
- deadline: January 18, 2017
High School seniors with a minimum 2.7 GPA are eligible to apply. If you are a student who has financial need and has demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement then you should apply!

AXA Achievement Scholarship - deadline: December 15, 2016
Scholarships of $10,000& $25,000 available...a winner in every state! Our scholarships winners are known as AXA Achievers. They are ethnically and economically diverse, but they share these qualities:
  • Ambition and drive
  • Determination to set and reach goals
  • Respect for self, family and community
  • Ability to succeed in college
Most Valuable Student Competition (Elks) - deadline: November 20, 2016
  • Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply. Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks (however, applications must be turned into the nearest Elk lodge).
  • College students are not eligible to apply.  Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.  Male and female students compete separately.  Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.

  • NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards - deadline: December 18, 2016
    $1,000-$15,000 scholarships awarded to recognize young people who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and initiative.  Open to all graduating seniors who own/operates his/her own small business.  Must be planning to attend accredited two- or four-year university/community college/technical school, etc. in the fall.

    First Choice Agriculture Scholarship
      - deadline: February 15, 2017

    Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into an agriculture or agriculture-related curriculum at a university, college, or community college.  Agriculture-related fields include those that would contribute to the quality of life for people living in rural areas.  Must reside or attend high school within 1st Farm Credit Services' territory. 

    IL Chemical Education Foundation Scholarship
     - deadline: February 17, 2016
    $2,000 scholarship to top high school senior science students. Must a be high school senior who is a resident of IL and plans to go to college.  All seniors are encouraged to apply!  See flyer for details on how to apply.


    Applicants must be current residents or students in the Sauk Valley Area.  Scholarships will be awarded based on agricultural background, educational and career goals, extracurricular activities and civic involvement as well as the overall quality of the application.

    Jo-Carroll Energy Scholarship - deadline: March 1, 2017
    Many scholarships over $1,000!  There are six Jo-Carroll Energy scholarships, two Lineworkers Scholarships, four Technical School Scholarships and 10 Director's scholarships available. Most require Jo-Carroll Energy as your electric/gas/sand prairie wireless provider.  See website for details.

    Dorothy Guentner Memorial Scholarship - deadline: March 31, 2017

    The scholarship is for $500.00 to be awarded to a student who will be attending Highland Community College.  One scholarship per year will be awarded. Eastland, Pearl City, and West Carroll are the schools being offered the scholarship (Dorothy taught in all these districts). Money will be paid directly to Highland after 1st semester and enrollment in 2nd semester is proven. Students are responsible for sending this information to the scholarship committee. Scholarship will be recognized at Seniors Awards Night.

    Delta Kappa Gamma Pi Chapter 
    - deadline: March 24th, 2017

    $300 scholarship to outstanding senior girl who is planning to pursue degree in education.  Turn application into Mrs. Pilgrim by March 24th  as school can only recommend 1 student for this scholarship. Recommendation will be awarded to student with best application.

    CGH Auxillary Healthcare Scholarships - deadline: April 1
    Multiple scholarships for one application!  Applicant must reside in CGH Medical Center service area (Whiteside, Lee, Carroll, Ogle, and Bureau counties) and have proof of acceptance in accredited nursing program OR proof of acceptance in accredited healthcare program (such as physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology technology, etc.).  This DOES NOT include pre-med, pre-physical therapy or other type designations.  Demonstration of financial need and 3.0 GPA also required.

    IL Sheriff's Association Scholarship  - deadline: March 15, 2017
    $500 scholarship paid directly to the school on behalf of scholarship recipient. Applicants must be IL residents and be attending college in the State of Illinois as a full-time student beginning in the fall of 2017. See application for more information - read directions carefully!

    Carroll County Soil & Water Conversation District  - March 31, 2017 

    $500 scholarship to a Carroll County youth who is or has graduated from a Carroll County school to further his/her education beyond high school in an agricultural field. This includes fields such as Agribusiness, Forestry, Agronomy, Ag-Economics, Natural Resources, Aquaculture, Wildlife Management, Agri-Science, etc. Click here for application and here for more information.

    CJ Pony Parts Scholarship Video Contest - April 15th or November 1st

    Create a short video (under 3 minutes) about your love of a Mustang. $500 Scholarships available. More information available on their website. Check it out!

    Sigma Nu Faternity for Univ. of Illinois - deadline: June 1st
    High school senior male's planning to attend University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana with above a 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply. See flyer for more details.

     

    Scholarship for students age 16-25. Applicant must have parent who was killed or seriously inured as a result of work related accident that meets the criteria of the IL Workers' Compensation Act and has resulted in demonstrated financial need. 

    Aspiring Nursing Scholarship - June 30, 2017

    $1,000 scholarship to high school seniors who are planning to pursue a degree in nursing or related field. Must write 500 word essay on why you're passionate about joining the nursing profession and how you will use education to improve healthcare of others. 

    Andrew Flushe Scholarship - deadline November 30th & June 30th
    Scholarship for seniors and current college students. Must create a PSA about the dangers of texting. Winners selected both semesters. See website for details.

    Charlie Burkart Iowa PGA Scholarship - deadline: June 16, 2017
    Scholarship winners are selected on the basis of their interest and activity in golf, the potential for future contributions to the game, and leadership skills/community involvement, then on their academic/professional ability and financial need. Students residing in IL north of Quincy and West of Freeport are eligible to apply. Application is attached. Visit website for details.

    Wendy's Heisman Scholarship - deadline: October 2
    Students who have a B average, are a student athlete, and stand out as a leader in their community and role model for the school are eligible to apply.

    Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. Scholarship - deadline: October 9
    HS seniors or college freshmen are eligible to apply. Create a video on the following topic: "What law or law would you create to make the roads safer?"
    FHN Scholarships - deadline September 8, 2017
    * Healthcare Career Scholarship - $1,000 for students currently enrolled in an accredited program of study
    *Volunteer Resources Scholarship - $500 for students who are an active member of the FHN Student Volunteer Program with a minimum of 40 career hours.


    Acorn Equality Fund Scholarship - deadline: September 22, 2017
    Acorn Equality Fund is a grassroots organization that provides academic scholarships for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender (GLBT) persons and their children in Illinois. Scholarships range from $1,000 - $5,000. Questions? Email  acorn1999@gmail.com

    Coca-Cola Scholars Program--- deadline: October 31
     

    Must be current high school senior who is US citizen, has 3.0 GPA and plans to attend four year accredited U.S. post-secondary institution. This scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship recognizing students for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.

    Open to High School Seniors planning to major in computer science or computer/electrical engineering.  With this you would attend college full-time, then work during the summer at NSA's main headquarters in Fort Meade, MD for a minimum of 12 weeks in areas related to course of study.  Qualifications:  US Citizen, HS Senior, minimum ACT of 25 or SAT of 1200, majoring in computer science or electrical engineering, 3.0 GPA or higher (is preferred). Selected recipients will earn up to $30,000 for college fees and tuition along with an annual salary of $26,000.  

     If you've made a difference through volunteering over the past year, you could win $1,000 and a fabulous trip to Washington, D.C.  Anyone grade 5-12 is eligible to apply.  You must have engaged in a volunteer activity within the last year.  Must complete application and submit it to Mrs.Burkholder.

    Horatio Alger Scholarships 
     - deadline: October 25, 2017

    Thousands of Dollars in scholarships awarded!  As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. Requirements: high school senior, desire to complete bachelor's degree, financial need, involved, GPA of 2.0 or higher. National, State, Career & Technical, and Targeted Scholarships are all available through this association.
    Hagan Scholarship Foundation -  November 15, 2017
    Nationwide need based merit scholarship for high achieving students who will require financial assistance in order to attend college. Scholarship will help pay unmet need of recipients, up to $5,000 per semester.  Must complete FAFSA and have EFC less than $6,500.  GPA of 3.5 or higher and 1200 or higher on SAT. Applicable for 4-year universities only. 

    Freeport Garden Club Scholarship - November 13, 2017
    Open to students who are enrolling at Highland and who are enrolling in environment fields such as agronomy/agriculture, botany, conservation, environmental concerns, forestry, horticulture, or landscape design/architecture. 3-$500 scholarships will be awarded

    National Space Club Scholarship - deadline: December 1, 2017
    $10,000 scholarship to a senior in high school or college student who has the intention of pursuing a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend a college/university. Preference is given to students with space related interests. 

    Imagine American Scholarship   - deadline: December 31, 2017
    $1,000 Scholarships.  Only recent high school graduates who meet the following recommended guidelines should apply: Likelihood of successful completion of postsecondary education,  high school grade point average of 2.5 or greater,  financial need,  demonstrated voluntary community service during senior year. Scholarship is only available for certain colleges - visit website to see if you should apply!

    GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship - deadline: January 4, 2018

    National Scholarship that awards $10,000 renewable scholarships to students. Candidates must have a 3.0 GPA and embody the characteristics of President Ronald Reagan at school, in the community, in the workplace, and at home.

    University of IL ACES Scholarship
     - deadline: December 1, 2018
    Applicants must be residents of IL and planning to major within the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences. See attached flyer for more information.

    Greenhouse Scholars
       - deadline: December 1, 2017
    They are looking for high-performing, under-resourced students who have already demonstrated true leadership and positive community contributions. Requirements include: graduating high school senior planning to attend 4 year accredited institution, US citizen and legal resident of Colorado or Illinois, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above, annual household income no greater than $70,000, demonstrate strong interest and commitment to the community and an ability to persevere through difficult circumstances, possess excellent leadership skills.

    IL Sheriff's Association Scholarship  - deadline: March 15, 2017$500 scholarship paid directly to the school on behalf of scholarship recipient.     Dean Ritter Trust for the Dead and Hard of Hearing Scholarship

    Pearl City Elevator will award a $500 scholarships to students pursuing higher education. Scholarship is based on scholastic achievement, leadership, need, and community involvement. 
    $500 scholarship awarded to high school seniors based on scholastic achievement, leadership in agriculture, and a perceived ability to contribute to the agricultural community in the future.     Carroll County Help Center Scholarship - deadline: March 1, 2018

    The Carroll County Help Center will offer two to four $500.00 scholarships to 2018 graduating seniors from any of the three high schools in Carroll County Scholarships are for prospective students looking to the future by pursuing training at a Community College and/or a Vocational/Technical School.  Each scholarship is for a 1-2 year vocational/technical program and will be given only toward Tuition, paid directly to the school of acceptance. We welcome applicants in vocational fields that include but are not limited to CNA, agricultural business, auto mechanics, data processing, laboratory tech, secretarial, etc. Click HERE for application! 

    Funding for these scholarships is derived from the sale of used items through the Carroll County Thrift Shop in Savanna.  We are pleased to be able to offer these yearly scholarships to help our youth further their education. 

    Eastland Community Scholarship - deadline: February 23rd

    Bi-County Foundation Scholarship -deadline: February 15th 
    Open to students who have a disability and attend schools serviced by Bi-County Coop (Eastland qualifies). Scholarship is for students pursuing a career in Special Ed or a related field (i.e. psychology, music therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, etc.). 


     

    2 - $600 scholarships to a graduating senior from a Carroll County high school. Children of long-standing members and Long Spur shooters residing outside of the county are also eligible to apply. Applicant must support the preservation of and actively participate in the hunting sports. 

    Dorothy Footitt Scholarship   - deadline: Marc2, 2018

    All Eastland students are eligible to apply! Make sure you read through the entire application and include all parts requested (in order!). Be legible and thorough. This scholarship requires 2 letters of recommendation. Must be turned into the HS before 3:00 p.m. on March 2nd..

    RIA Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program - deadline March 1st

    5 - $1,000 scholarships awarded to individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, citizenship, community and school involvement AND are Credit Union members. An individual may join RIA for the sole purpose of eligibility. Eligibility requirements: high school senior or current college student enrolling in an accredited 2-4 year college/university/technical school who is RIA credit union member. 


    Donald Kiser Memorial Scholarship 
     - deadline:March 1, 2018

    $1,000 one year non-renewable merit based award.  Eligibility Requirements: applicant must be pursuing studies in chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering, demonstrate a high level of academic achievement in science or related area, resident of Bureau, Carroll, Henderson, Henry, Jo Davies, Mercer, Rock Island, Warren, or Whiteside counties, and entering their freshmen year of college in the fall of 2018.
    Jo-Carroll Energy Scholarship -  deadline: March 1, 2018
    Multiple scholarships ranging from $500-$1000  will be awarded to outstanding scholastic students who are the sons or daughters of Jo-Carroll Energy members and/or parents are lineworkers.  See website for more information.

    • IL AMVETS Junior ROTC Scholarship - $1,000.  Eligibility: Senior, have taken ACT or SAT, be in Junior ROTC program.
    • IL AMVETS Trade School Scholarships - $1,000.  Eligibility: IL High School Senior who has been accepted in a pre-approved trade school. Copy of acceptance letter must accompany application
    • IL AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Memorial Scholarship.Eligibility: IL High School Senior, child or grandchild of Veteran who served after Sept. 15, 1940 and was Honorably Discharged or who is presently serving in the military, have take ACT or SAT.

    $1,000 scholarship for future engineers, if you meet requirements, apply! (Usually low turn out of applicants). Eligibility requirements: high school senior, citizen of US, live in Ogle/Bureau/Whiteside/Carroll County, have a 3.0 GPA, attain a minimum test score of: ACT Math = 29, ACT English = 25.

    The Quad City Engineering and Science Council is offering a scholarships between $1,000-$3,000 to students pursuing a STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics) related degree at a 4 year university.     Carroll County Crime Stoppers - deadline: March 12, 2018

    All Carroll County graduating seniors who are pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice or a related field are eligible to apply for this $200 scholarship. Application process is easy - just follow the directions on the attached flyer. 


    Carroll County Republican Women's Scholarship - deadline: March 15th 
    $500 Scholarship. Eligibility: any graduating senior from Carroll County who is enrolled in a 2 or 4 year accredited college/university.  Must have a 3.0 GPA and active history of community service and/or political involvement with Republican Party.

    Eastland Education Association Scholarship - deadline: March 9th
    Every senior is eligible to apply! See attachment for more details. This is an anonymous $400 scholarship/essay competition, judged by Eastland teachers (at the Elementary school).
    Dorothy Guentner Memorial Scholarship - deadline: March 15, 2018
    The scholarship is for $500.00 to be awarded to a student who will be attending Highland Community College.  One scholarship per year will be awarded.  Eastland, Pearl City, and West Carroll are the schools being offered the scholarship (Dorothy taught in all these districts.)  Money will be paid directly to Highland after 1st semester and enrollment in 2nd semester is proven.  Students are responsible for sending this information to the scholarship committee. Scholarship will be recognized at Seniors Awards Night.

    Andresen Farms Ag Scholarship - deadline: March 10, 2018

    $1,000 scholarships to seniors graduating in Carroll County. Eligibility requirements: graduating senior in Carroll County high school, enrolled or accepted fro enrollment at an accredited college, university, community college, or technical school, and must be majoring in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or Ag-related course of study. Scholarship based on scholastic ability, financial need, moral character, leadership qualities, and motivation. Application attached above.

    Andresen Memorial Scholarship - deadline: March 10, 2018
    $1,000 scholarships available in memory of Harold & Kay Andresen's sons Randy and Rodney. Must be a graduating senior of Carroll County and enrolled or accepted for enrollment at an accredited college, university, community college, or technical school. Scholarship to be based on need of student who has: scholastic ability, moral character, leadership qualities, motivation, and community involvement. Application attached above.

     

    IL Retired Teachers Foundation Scholarship: deadline: March 7th

    $1,500 scholarship for a student who is resident of IL or have graduated from IL high school, they must be in accredited teacher training program, have a 3.0 GPA and share copy of college transcript. Application must be received before student's junior or senior year in college. 

    Carroll County Farm Bureau Scholarships  - deadline: March 5, 2018

     

    6 - $1,000 scholarships for the CC Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship and 1 - $1,000 scholarship for the Harold Schmidt Memorial Forestry Scholarship. CC Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship: must be a Carroll County Farm Bureau member, major in agriculture, agribusiness, or Ag-related field, high school senior or current college student.

    Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Illinois Scholarship
    : March 1
    Scholarship available to students wishing to continue their education in any post secondary school or accredited vocational/technical school, be a US citizen and maintain at least a "C" average. Applicants need not be affiliated with organization, but must be a resident of Illinois and a citizen of the United States. Visit www.ioof-il.org  for application.

    1st Gateway Credit Union Scholarship

    Any person who is an account holder and planning to enroll as a full-time student OR is enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited institution can apply (community college, tech school, university, etc.).  $600 scholarship available!

    Whiteside Area Career Center Scholarships - deadline: March 23rd
    Students who attend WACC may be eligible for a WACC scholarship. Please see website for details.

    Friends of the Lanark Public Library Scholarship - deadline: March 20th
    Write a one page essay expressing how they have valued and utilized the Lanark Public Library as well as briefly sharing their plans for further education. (Must be a patron of Lanark Public Library). Turn 1 page essay into Mrs. Pilgrim.

    Compeer Financial High School Scholarship - deadline: March 16th
    Requirements for $1,500 scholarships include: HS graduation, GPA of 3.0 or higher, designate Ag major, and resident of certain territories (see website). 
    Schardt Orthodontics Scholarship - deadline: March 31, 2018
    Any graduating senior who completed a full course of orthodontic treatment (braces on all teeth) or who are currently undergoing orthodontic treatment by Dr. Gregory Schardt and are pursuing further education in a vocational or technical school or college/university. $300 scholarships will be given to all qualifying patients with a 24 ACT composite (or higher) and who complete a 1000 word essay on the subject of : "The Importance of a Smile"..


    Rolling Hills Progress Center - deadline: April 1st
    Carroll County HS seniors are eligible but must be enrolled in 2 year or 4 year post- secondary institution. Primary consideration will be given to those going into special education, teaching, nursing, social work, psychology, physical, or speech therapy. Must apply to Eastland Community Scholarship to be eligible! Must write additional essay.     Boyle-Hoy Shannon American Legion Scholarship - deadline: April 9th

    2- $300 scholarships available! Qualifications for applicants: any member of the Boyle-Hoy American Legion Post (who are in good standing) and their family members (children or grandchildren), OR any college student who has not received the scholarship before and is a relative of a Legion member OR any graduating senior from Eastland High school who has a Shannon address. Please see attached application for specific details. 


    CGH Medical Scholarships - deadline: April 1, 2018
    $1,000 scholarships for tuition to men/women enrolled in health-related educational programs, are residents of IL residing in area served by CGH Medical Center and meet criteria. Scholarships are renewable for four years.  Health-related areas do not include pre-requisites necessary before acceptance into a specific program and/or degree specialties including pre-med, pre-pharmacy, etc. 

    Dean Ritter Trust for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - deadline: March 23
    At least 10 scholarships between the amounts of $1,000-$5,000. Eligibility requirements include resident of state of IL, current HS senior in good standing, have significant hearing loss in one or both ears, exhibit financial need. 


    Carroll County Soil & Water Conversation District
      - March 30, 2018
    $500 scholarship to a Carroll County youth who is or has graduated from a Carroll County school to further his/her education beyond high school in an agricultural field.     $500 scholarship.  Applicants should have an agriculture background, applicant or parent/guardian must belong to the Carroll County Livestock Feeders Association either as an active or associate member, financial need will be a consideration.

    Jay Polhill Memorial Scholarship - Deadline April 7, 2018

    $750 Scholarship for a college-bound senior with a passion for fine arts.  Scholarship is available for a graduating high school seniors from Aquin, Dakota, Orangeville, Eastland, Lena-Winslow, Pearl City, Scales Mound, Stockton, or Warren.  Applicant must have ACT score of 20, earned at least a C average in high school, good attendance at high school,  and plan to major in certain field (see application for details).
    Multiple scholarships offered to youth who have relation to Master Masons or are relatives to Scottish Rite Masons. 9 scholarships in all - visit website for details!

    IL Masonic Scholarship - Healthcare Scholarship: April 1, 2018
